Bradley Somer's set to make his UK debut on August 6 with his novel Fishbowl, the tale of a goldfish called Ian's observations after he flips himself out of his bowl and falls from a 27th storey balcony in a bid for freedom.

Compared to Armistead Maupin's Tales of the City series of novels, the book follows a number of characters including a grad student, a construction worker with a secret and a home-schooled boy who thinks he can travel through time. Somer, who was born in Sydney before growing up in Canada, previously released a novel called Imperfections in 2012, alongside short fiction which has appeared in a number of literary journals. With praise from bestselling author Tom Perrotta, who called the book 'An irrepressible novel - breezy, funny, sexy, and bursting with life', and We Are Called To Rise writer Laura McBride who said 'Bradley Somer's captivating novel is a delight', Fishbowl is sure to be one of this summer's most exciting debuts.
